Legal Writing and Research I and II Teaching Assistant Positions
The Legal Writing and Research Program seeks applicants for Legal Writing and Research I and II teaching assistant (TA) positions during both summer 2011 and the 2011-2012 academic year. Students who will be in their second, third or fourth year of law school are eligible to apply. These positions offer an excellent opportunity to sharpen research and writing skills, to increase familiarity with law library resources, to make a significant contribution to the legal education of first-year students, and to develop a working relationship with a faculty member.
We are looking for conscientious applicants with strong research and writing skills who are capable of communicating effectively with first-year students. These are paid positions for students with sufficient federal work-study funds. We will accept applications through April 18, 2011.
Research Assistants (Summer 2011):
Duties include researching problems that Legal Writing and Research professors will use for closed and open memos for the fall semester.
Teaching Assistants (Fall 2011/Spring 2012):
Specific responsibilities include attending Legal Writing and Research I and II classes, grading research exercises, consulting with students during weekly office hours, helping to prepare research and writing assignments used in the first-year curriculum, and attending practice and final oral arguments.
