Empowering schools to design learning that inspires the future generation of thinkers, dreamers and innovators

In partnership with districts, this initiative aims to help educators and leaders make evidence-based decisions that transform educational environments and improve student learningMerging research and practice, we help facilitate a culture of learning and innovation in schools that pushes thinking and inspires meaningful change. Strategic partnerships with K-12 districts not only investigate strengths and barriers to implementation, but also provide teachers and leaders with unique insights, strategies and resources to enhance their practice. More detailed information about the program can be found at and in this Mindshift article.

Innovation Next

Our goal is to encourage educational practices that equip today’s students with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions they will need to be prepared to succeed and lead in San Diego’s innovation economy. We accomplish this through the Innovation Index (annual survey to assess student perceptions of their preparedness for the innovation economy), local convenings (with school leaders, industry experts, and community memebers), workshops & institutes (to share best practices and strategies for redesigning learning), and consulting services (through on-site workshops and assessments).
