Macintosh OS X

1. Connect your Ethernet cable to your computer and the ethernet port on the wall.
2. Turn your computer on.
3. Select Apple >> System Preferences.
4. In System Preferences, select Network.
5. Confirm that, at the top of the screen, Location is set to Automatic and Show is set to Built-In Ethernet. Under the TCP/IP tab, Configure should be set to “Using DHCP”.
6. Close the Network preferences window (click on the red button in the upper left hand corner of the window). Save the changes.
7. Reboot your computer.
8. Open your internet browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.) and register your computer on the network. (Unet Registration)

Troubleshooting

1. Select Apple >> System Preferences.
2. In System Preferences, select Network.
3. Make sure that the Location is set to Automatic, and that it is showing the settings for Built-In Ethernet. Under the TCP/IP tab, make sure Using DHCP is selected next to Configure.
4. In the DHCP Client ID box, type anything (it doesn’t matter what you type as long as it is different from what was there before), then press Apply Now.
5. Wait a few seconds for a new IP Address to appear.
6. Close the window, save the changes, and try to connect again.
