Adobe for Purchase
The university has renewed our CLP agreement with Adobe as of June 1, 2008, allowing us to continue providing users with Adobe products at significantly reduced prices. Throughout the two-year life of the agreement, departments on campus will be able to order licenses through ITS by going online and submitting an order form (link this?). ITS will place orders for Adobe licenses at the beginning and middle of each month, then once the product arrives, ITS will distribute the software and charge the requesting department via journal entry. Departments will only be charged for the actual length of their license upgrade plan. For example, if a department purchases Contribute six months into the program, the license upgrade plan will only be active for the remaining 18 months of the program (unless renewed), and the department will only be billed for an 18-month license upgrade plan.
All Adobe products purchased through the CLP program include maintenance through May 2010, which entitles users to any upgrades released during this period. Furthermore, this maintenance can be renewed as the university renews its contract, which we highly recommend, or keep the version you have already purchased. If you have already purchased an Adobe or Macromedia boxed product, we strongly encourage you to repurchase it under this new.

1) What kind of pricing are we talking about?
Departments on the University of San Diego campus can purchase all Adobe products at a largely reduced rate from retail cost. Below is a list of common products purchased and what our price would be (prices are based on a two-year length for both license and upgrade plan**):

2) I already have an Adobe product. Will I need to repurchase under the new program?
You will have to repurchase your current product if you've purchased it as a boxed product with no upgrade plan (maintenance), or if your licensed product maintenance has expired.
3) How do I order Adobe products?
Complete the online order form (including POETS code) and hit the Submit button. This form is sent to ITS. ITS will then distribute the software to you. ITS purchases the licenses from the Bookstore. At the end of each month, ITS will submit a journal entry to Accounting to recharge your department the cost of the product.
4) Can I order an Adobe products at any time under the 2-year contract?
Yes, you can. You will pay a retroactive price depending on when during the 2-year term you purchase, rather than paying for a full 2 years.
5) Can I use this software on my personal computer?
Adobe CLP licenses cannot be purchased for personal use. Such licenses can be obtained through the USD bookstore. However, the CLP agreement allows for a single at-home use installation for individuals working on USD business at home.
