Limited-access prospective student and guest accounts are also available for eligible University affiliates and campus visitors. MySanDiego accounts provide credentials that allow authorized users to gain access to various computing resources and services - for example, access to the University MySanDiego portal, USD Secure Wi_Fi, Blackboard LMS, etc.

USD securely stores 4 weeks of data (tape backups) on site and one year of retention stored off campus within Commvault preservation facilities. ToreroMail is the E-Mail that the University provides for students. The accounts are hosted by Google and have a capacity of 7 GB. Students receive all official communications with the University through this E-Mail account. Students who graduate from USD after 2008 are allowed to keep their Torero Mail account for life.
