|Workstation/Limited Number of Licenses|
ITS has a limited number of licenses to distribute. In addition, current add-on features ITS currently has are:
- Simulink: An environment for multidomain simulation and Model-Based Design for dynamic and embedded systems. It provides an interactive graphical environment and a customizable set of block libraries that let you design, simulate, implement, and test a variety of time-varying systems, including communications, controls, signal processing, video processing, and image processing.
- Control System Toolbox: provides tools for systematically analyzing, designing, and tuning linear control systems. You can specify a linear model of your system, plot its time and frequency responses to understand how the system behaves, tune the controller parameters using automated and interactive techniques, and verify performance requirements, such as rise time and gain/phase margins. Workflow-based graphical user interfaces (GUIs) guide you through each step of the analysis and design process.
- Partial Differentiation Equation Toolbox: contains tools for the study and solution of partial differential equations (PDEs) in two-space dimensions (2-D) and time. A set of command-line functions and a graphical user interface let you preprocess, solve, and postprocess generic 2-D PDEs for a broad range of engineering and science applications.
- Simulink Control Design: streamlines the design and analysis of control systems for nonlinear plant models built in Simulink®. You can automatically extract linear approximations of your model, perform frequency-domain analysis, and tune the control system parameters directly in the Simulink environment using a range of tools and techniques. Extensive graphical user interface (GUI) and programming capabilities reduce the complexity and time required to develop linearized models and tune controllers.
- Signal Processing Toolbox: a collection of industry-standard algorithms for analog and digital signal processing (DSP). Signal Processing Toolbox software also provides graphical user interfaces for interactive design and analysis and command-line functions for advanced algorithm development.
- Symbolic Math Toolbox: combines the symbolic mathematics and variable-precision arithmetic capabilities of the Maple™ symbolic engine with MATLAB® numeric and visualization capabilities. With the Symbolic Math Toolbox product, you can use the MATLAB language and syntax to perform symbolic computations. The toolbox offers more than 100 symbolic functions for performing algebraic, calculus, and integral transform operations.
Currently there is no cost associated with Matlab. However, due to the limited number of licenses available, licenses must be approved by ITS as well as departmental head. Because we have a limited number of licenses for Matlab, requests must be approved by Academic Technology Services.
