Academic Technology Services uses the Pharos Uniprint system in our general computing labs in Serra 205 and Olin 122 as well as various locations across campus. Each area is equipped with an Omega touch screen that hosts the user interface to Pharos Uniprint for printing. These machines allow you to release your print jobs by swiping your Torero card and selecting the job(s) you wish to print.
Set up your printing account:
In order to print at USD, you must first setup your account. You can register by scanning your Torero card and following the instructions at one of the Omega stations on campus. Registration is a one-time registration. Once you have registered your card, make sure you have campus cash loaded onto your account. To learn more about campus cash and how to add money to your account, visit the campus cash website. If for any reason you purchase a new ID card after registration (lost card, damaged card, etc) you will need to update your ID card in Pharos in order for printing to continue working. You can do this by submitting a Help Desk ticket at https://usdnow.service-now.com/sp
Printing from your mobile device:
There are several options for printing on campus. If using mobile print, you do not need to be physically at a lab to send a document to the printer; however, you must pick up your printed materials within 48 hours from the printer. Anything after 48 hours will be deleted from the print queue or recycled if abandoned at the printer.
Online Mobile Print Center Method
Visit http://mobileprint.sandiego.edu - you will log in with your USDOne account and upload your file.
- Choose the printer and lab you want to pick up your materials from.
- Update the printing options for your file like color, single or double-sided.
- View your account balance.
*If you use the Mobile Print Center method, please be aware that the process is immediate. Money will be deducted from your account and the print job will process. You are responsible for making sure you have selected the correct printer and options prior to releasing the print job.
Email Method
Send the file you want printed in an email from your Torero email address. Attachments are limited to 25MB file size. Visit one of our ATS computer labs in Serra 205 or Olin 122 to release your black and white or color print jobs.
Printing from lab computers
Academic Technology Services has two computer labs for the use of university members. One lab is located on the second floor of Serra 205. PC and MAC computers are available as well as laptops. The second lab is located on the first floor of Olin Hall in room 122. To print from a lab computer:
- Users login using their USDOne credentials
- Open a file on any lab computer.
- Select the print option.
- Choose which printer to send the file (look for the room number of the lab)
- An onscreen request to label the print job will appear. You must use your USDOne account login as the label of every print job you create in the computer lab.
Please ask a Lab Assistant in the lab for any assistance regarding printing issues.
