Connect your Ethernet cable to your computer and the ethernet port on the wall.
Turn your computer on.
Select Apple >> System Preferences.
In System Preferences, select Network.
Confirm that, at the top of the screen, Location is set to Automatic and Show is set to Built-In Ethernet. Under the TCP/IP tab, Configure should be set to “Using DHCP”.
Close the Network preferences window (click on the red button in the upper left hand corner of the window). Save the changes.
