USD will automatically send an email to all Active Directory (AD) account owners when their password is close to expiring (passwords must be changed every 90 days for AD, which is used for checking your Exchange email). If you receive the following email, you can follow the steps to change your password to something new.

SUBJECT: USD AD/Exchange password expiration notice
Hi {Customer Name},
This email is to inform that your AD password for "{Account Name}" expires in {daysToExpire} day(s). Your AD password is used to access your Exchange email account, logging into Windows based computers on campus, Egate/VPN access and shared drive access.
To reset your AD password, please log into your Exchange account at https://exchange.sandiego.edu and select "Options" from the top right, then select "Change Password" from the menu on the left. This will take you into a form which will allow you to reset your AD password. Be sure to click "Save" on the top left once you have entered your new password. Please note that your password must be new and be at least 8 characters in length. For security reasons you will be unable to use your most recent passwords. If you use a Windows computer, you may also change your password by pressing ctrl+alt+del after logging into and selecting the “Change Password” button from the Windows Security prompt that appears.
Please note that your AD password is different than your MySanDiego and Oracle passwords. Changing your AD password will not reset your password for the MySanDiego Portal or for Oracle.
