Please check the following 4 items in order to resolve this situation. This is a known issue for which we have submitted a ticket to WebCT, but in the mean time, these actions have proven to be successful:
1. With regard to the two error messages which have been showing up in WebCT, please make sure to respond as follows:
a. Digital Signature Error: Check “Always trust content from this publisher” and Select “Run”
b. Java has discovered . . . a security concern: Select “No” – (do not block components).
2. Please run the “Check Browser” tool on the top right portion of your home page. This will quickly check your current browser for the latest version of Java and other options you may need in order to minimize errors when running WebCT.
3. Please make sure to enable all popup windows.
a. In Firefox go to Tools --> Options --> Content --> Make sure ‘Block Pop Up Windows’ is checked, but select “Exceptions” and add “pope.sandiego.edu” and select “Allow.”
b. In IE, go to Tools --> Popup Blocker --> Popup Blocker Settings --> Type in “pope.sandiego.edu” and select “Add.”
4. Also, If you have not upgraded to Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox version 3.6.9, we would strongly suggest you perform this upgrade and use the current version instead of any previous versions of either browser. This will make a significant difference in your performance (ITS recommends Firefox):
