Currently, the ITS Help Desk only can provide support for Symantec Antivirus, which is already installed on all office and lab computers.  If you are bringing a personal computer on campus to use the wired or wireless network, you are required to install a current antivirus software. The following antivirus software is approved for use with the WiFi network, eduroam:

  • McAfee
  • TrendMicro
  • eTrust EZ Antivirus
  • Symantec
  • AVG
  • Authentium
  • Panda
  • Avast
  • Bitdefender
  • Kaspersky
  • Spy Sweeper AV (aka Webroot AV)
  • ZoneAlarm
  • NOD32
  • Microsoft Security Essentials

If you are a current student/staff/faculty member at USD, you are eligible to download a copy of Symantec Antivirus for as long as you're affiliated with the university.  You can download this at http://sandiego.edu/its/resources/downloads after logging in at the bottom of that page.
