Student Owned Computers
ITS offers basic support of Windows 8 for current students through the ITS Help Desk. While we cannot guarantee that all USD services and applications will work on your new computer, we have confirmed that 'usdsecure' wireless access and most student services (MySanDiego, Torero Mail, etc) will work on your computer. Note: Users of Ole, our Blackboard system, might need to install Mozilla Firefox until support for IE10 is released by the vendor.
Staff/Faculty Personally Owned Computers
Currently, the ITS Help Desk does not provide any support to staff and faculty who use personal computers on campus. We can help configure computers for our 'usdsecure' wireless network and provide an antivirus, but other support will need to be provided by the computer manufacturer or a local tech support company (Fry's, GeekSquad, etc).
USD Owned Computers
As of 12/20/2012, ITS does not support Windows 8 on any USD owned computers. Our department is currently testing various applications and USD services before we can offer full technical support. Please check back later!
