Exchange setup on Android 4.x

To connect your Android 4.x device connected to your Exchange account, follow these steps. Configure the Phone/Tablet to properly access and sync.

 

Step 1: Tap the Applications button

 

 

 

Step 2: Launch the Email application

 

 

Step 3: Enter your email and password in the appropriate fields

 

 

Step 4: Select the “Exchange” account type

 

 

Step 5: Enter the Exchange Server Address in the server field. You must also make the field “Accept all SSL certificates” has been checked.

 

 

Step 6: You may have to wait while the device confirms your settings.

 

 

Step 7: Tap OK.

 

 

Step 8: Select “Send email from this account by default”. If you do not choose this option, you will have to manually select which email account you are using every time. Once you have decided, tap “next”.

 

 

Step 9: If prompted to select “Activate Device Administrator” choose “Activate”. If not, move on to Step 10.

 

 

 

Step 10: You have the option to name this account. The default account name will be your @sandiego.edu email address.

 

 

 

Step 11: Your phone must be given time to download your emails. The amount of time this takes depends on your mailbox size and data connection. Wifi is recommended for this process.

 

 

Step 12: Once setup is complete, you will be taken directly to your inbox.

 

 

Step 13: To access your emails, go to Step 2 and select the “Email” application.
