Training

The iTeam offers training on all of the Supported Technology on our web site. In addition, faculty and staff from across the university conduct sessions on their areas of technical expertise on a volunteer basis.

Don't see the workshop you need? Request a session by e-mailing the iTeam@sandiego.edu.

The iTeam offers training workshops in a computer lab setting, but also can arrange workshops on supported software at your request for specific groups of eight or more. In addition, we provide one-on-one training during walk-in hours or by appointment with individual instructors. Please contact the iTeam@sandiego.edu for more details.

View a video demonstration of logging in to the online system, an interactive segment covering the step-by-step procedures for signing up for workshops or follow the steps below:

1. From the ITS Tutorials page, scroll down the page and Log in to signup for tutorials or view your upcoming tutorials (using your MySandiego Username and Password).
2. Choose from the categories of courses listed on the left . Read the workshop description, date , time, location and look for any prerequisites.

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Sign Up Button to complete registration for that workshop. You can proceed to sign up for other workshops by going back to the left-hand category list,  choosing another workshop by repeating the steps above.

4. Click on the My Classes link to view all of your registered workshops.
5. Click on Logout to exit the online workshop registration system.

If you cannot attend a workshop for which you have registered, we do appreciate you taking the time to cancel. Frequently, instructors will prepare hand-outs and cancelling will help save valuable energy and resources.

To cancel, follow these steps:

1. Access the Online Workshop Registration System by navigating your browser to: http://sandiego.edu/tutorials
2. Log in using your MySanDiego User Name and Password. Click on My Classes to view your registered workshops.
   

3. Click on the workshop you wish to cancel. For example: Introductory CE on Friday, August 28:

4. Click on the Cancel button to cancel your registration at that workshop.

Have an area of expertise you’d like to share with faculty and staff?   Faculty and have been volunteering to offer training sessions at USD for years.  It is a great way to share your knowledge and meet other members of the university community.

Additionally, at the end of a semester, a drawing is held for trainers to win a prize.  For each session you conduct, a chip is put into a hat.  The more chips you have, the greater the chance of winning.  The most recent give-away was an iPod.
