STA Project Showcase

Stem Cell Ethics Conference Video Encoding/Rendering

Stem Cell Encoding/RenderingProfessor: Larry Hinman
Department of Philosophy
STA: Erik Kostka
Semester: Spring 2007

Project Overview: Encode and Render video from the Salk Institute's Stem Cell Ethics conference.

Videos were captured using a method whereby the STA could simultaniously preform other tasks. This included researching improvements on the videos (titles, etc), uploading already made videos onto a test server, etc. Once captured, the videos were crop/ripple-edited where necessary for fluidity purposes. Audio was corrected where appropriate and titles, transitions and effects were added.

A total of 60 Gigabytes of movie files have thus far been created which will next be rendered for size and quality.
