Join us in this class and learn all about the new functions and features of your new operating system.
- Mail Merge using MS Word 2007 - Introductory Level
Using Microsoft Word we will learn how to use the popular Mail Merge feature. You will learn how to create form letters or labels via this very useful tool.
- Microsoft Access 2007 - Introductory Level
Beginning with an introduction to the new "ribbon" navigation interface you will learn the basic elements of an Access database (tables and forms). You will also learn how to use the Wizard to create tables, forms, and reports.
- Microsoft Access 2007 - Intermediate Level
In this course you will learn how to: use advanced queries; use a query to bring data from different tables together in the same data sheet; use query data and generate reports. You will learn how to customize forms and controls, and how to use combo lists.
- Microsoft Excel 2007 - Introductory Level
Step-by-step lessons take you through the "ribbon" interface and worksheet and chart creation. Importing, sorting and editing of data along with applying basic formulas and functions are covered
- Microsoft Excel 2007 - Intermediate Level

- Microsoft Office 2007Interface Training - Introductory Level
This course is offered in conjunction with the campus-wide roll-out of Office 2007 for PCs and covers the new Office 2007 interface. In this course, you will have hands-on access to simulations of the Word and PowerPoint interfaces, as well as tools that enable direct comparison of old and new interfaces
- Microsoft Outlook 2007 - Introductory Level
This course covers basic Operations: Creating a signature, Creating and Organizing Contacts, Sending, Receiving, Forwarding, Creating and Opening Attachments, Searching Emails, Creating Rules, Building and Organizing Contacts, Using the Calendar, Creating Appointments and Events and inviting attendees, Creating Tasks and Reminders
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 (PC) - Introductory Level
Step-by-step lessons take you through the "ribbon" interface and document creation, editing and distribution while creating your own sample presentation.
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2008 (Mac) - Introductory Level
Step-by-step lessons take you through the interface. The focus is on slide show creation, editing and distribution while creating your own sample presentation.
- Multimedia for WebCT/CE- Introductory Level
Looking to bring your WebCT/Blackboard course to life? You can supplement your reading and discussion activities with purposeful, multi-media quite easily. This workshop will show you how to quickly and easily add video, audio and images to your course(s).
- Personal Web Sites with WordPress - Introductory Level
WP for Personal Web sites is a basic course on how to create a blog or Web site using the powerful open-source program WordPress. During the session we will review the basics of creating a Web site, explore the Web-based WordPress interface, and create a small example site.
- PHP - Introductory Level
PHP (recursive acronym for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor") is a widely-used Open Source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML. If you are new to PHP and want to get some idea of how it works, try this introductory tutorial.
- Picasa - Introductory
Learn how to easily enhance and edit photos with basic tools and techniques. Share your photos with others through the creation of online albums.
- Second Life Part I - Higher Ed Uses - Introductory Level
Within this first part of two workshops, users experience a tour of exciting and innovative educational locations and demonstrates the immersive nature of the environment. Participants will be encouraged to share their ideas and questions during the demo, including the process of incorporating Second Life into their curriculum.
- Second Life Part II - Hands-on - Introductory Level
Within this first part of two workshops, users will create a free Second Life account, create an avatar, learn how to navigate the environment and travel to exciting and innovative educational destinations.
- SPSS - Introductory Level
This lab based course will introduce users to the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. Data entry, coding, and cleaning will be covered. Data analysis for descriptive statistics is included.
- Streaming Server - Introductory Level
USD's media server allows faculty to present audio and video files online in a streaming format. This course will cover the basics of uploading audio and video files to the streaming server.

Workshop Signup Procedures
View a video demonstration of logging in to the online system, an interactive segment covering the step-by-step procedures for signing up for workshops or follow the steps below:
- From the ITS Tutorials page, scroll down the page and Log in to signup for tutorials or view your upcoming tutorials (using your MySandiego Username and Password).
- Choose from the categories of courses listed on the left . Read the workshop description, date , time, location and look for any prerequisites.


- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Sign Up Button to complete registration for that workshop. You can proceed to sign up for other workshops by going back to the left-hand category list, choosing another workshop by repeating the steps above.

- Click on the My Classes link to view all of your registered workshops.
- Click on Logout to exit the online workshop registration system.
Workshop Cancellation Procedures
If you cannot attend a workshop for which you have registered, we do appreciate you taking the time to cancel. Frequently, instructors will prepare hand-outs and cancelling will help save valuable energy and resources.

To cancel, follow these steps:
- Access the Online Workshop Registration System by navigating your browser to: http://sandiego.edu/tutorials
- Log in using your MySanDiego User Name and Password. Click on My Classes to view your registered workshops.

- Click on the workshop you wish to cancel. For example: Introductory CE on Friday, August 28:

- Click on the Cancel button to cancel your registration at that workshop.
