Q: How do I set up an account on MySanDiego or create my E-mail account?

MySanDiego/E-mail accounts are no longer created by the ITS Help Desk. To create a MySanDiego/E-mail account, click here. You can also create an account right on the MySanDiego login page by clicking the Open an Account link.

You will need to have the following information handy in order to create your account:

  • Your USD ID number
  • The last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (Foreign students that do not have a SSN should input 0000)
  • Your Date of Birth

NOTICE! Your newly created account will not be immediately available. It may take 24-48 hours before you will be able to login to USD systems after you have created your new account. In addition, your assigned user ID will also be your e-mail address in the form of account@sandiego.edu.

IF ANY OF THE INFORMATION IN THE 3 ITEMS ABOVE ARE INCORRECTLY LISTED IN THE IDENTITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, THE ACCOUNT OWNER WILL NEED TO CONTACT THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE EXT: 4506 (if they are incoming) OR THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE EXT: 4557 (admitted) TO HAVE THE INFORMATION CORRECTED.  ONCE THE APPROPRIATE OFFICE HAS INPUT THE CORRECT INFORMATION IN TO THEIR RECORDS THEN THE IDENTITY ACCESS MANAGEMENT RECORD WILL UPDATE AUTOMATICALLY OVER NIGHT.  THEN THE ACCOUNT CAN BE CREATED ONCE THE INFORMATION IN THE IAM RECORD IS CORRECT.
