Q: What Antivirus is supported by USD?Currently, the ITS Help Desk only can provide support for Symantec Antivirus, which is already installed on all office and lab computers. If you are bringing a personal computer on campus to use the wired or wireless network, you are required to install a current antivirus software. The following antivirus software is approved for use with USD's SafeConnect application:

- McAfee
- TrendMicro
- EZ Antivirus
- Symantec
- AVG
- Authentium
- Microsoft OneCare
- Symantec Corp
- McAfee NA
- McAfee 45
- TrendMicro Corp
- Panda
- AVGuard
- Avast
- Bitdefender
- Kaspersky
- SpySweeper AV (aka Webroot AV)
If you are a current student/staff/faculty member at USD, you are eligible to download a copy of Symantec Antivirus for as long as you're affiliated with the university. You can download this at http://www.sandiego.edu/unet/virus.php
Please Note! Currently these antivirus programs are NOT properly detected by SafeConnect and are not supported on campus. Please do not upgrade to these versions until further support can be developed:
