Connection Settings

The following are quick guidelines for connecting to either your personal or departmental website via Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Contribute, FileZilla (Windows), or Fugu (Macintosh).

Note that you must be on campus to access the personal and departmental web server.s For off-campus usage, you will need to have a USD VPN account. To apply for a VPN account, submit the New User Registration form to Maher Hall, Room 170.

Personal Websites

Access: Secure FTP
Server: usdhome.sandiego.edu:42670
Host Directory: public_html/
Login: your MySanDiego username
Password: your MySanDiego password

Your URL for your Web site will be http://home.sandiego.edu/~username online. If you visit the Account Command Center and log in using your MySanDiego account username and password, you will see the full URL there.

Departmental Websites

Host Directory: /Users/yourwebaccount/Sites/yourwebsite
Login: your web account username
Password: your web account password

If you do not know your web account username or password, please contact web@sandiego.edu. You will need to supply the URL(s) of the website(s) you are trying to gain access to so that we can look up the applicable information.
