Emergency Outage - Services Restored 9:00am Mon Jul 7, 2014
Users of Exchange that check their mail using Internet Explorer at exchange.sandiego.edu are receiving a SmartScreen error. The error message incorrectly states that the Exchange site is a phishing website and shows a large red error message. Users must log in before they see the red error message.
This message is incorrect - the Exchange website is not a phishing website and is functioning properly. We have contacted Microsoft to have the site removed from the SmartScreen list. Until then, we're recommending users use an alternative web browser, such as Firefox or Chrome to check their Exchange mail.
If this is not possible, you can click on "More Information" in the error message and choose "Disregard and Continue (Not Recommended)" to continue. You will need to do this each time you open Exchange in Internet Explorer until we are removed from the SmartScreen list.
If you have any questions or concerns, or do not have an alternative web browser to check your mail in, please contact the ITS Help Desk at (619) 260-7900.
