The ITAC serves as an advisory group to the CIO and Provost, with particular emphasis given to technology and services that advances teaching, learning, and research activities. As part of shared governance and an effort to ensure that faculty and student technology needs continue to be addressed, the ITAC considers matters brought to it for advisement and also initiates recommendations to the CIO and Provost. The ITAC meets four times during the academic year. The Council also addresses questions of IT planning and policy that help USD Information Technology Services set the direction for new technology and services in a representative committee structure. The ITAC replaces the IRC (Information Resources Council) that functioned in a similar capacity from 2006 to 2013.
