Dillon Mills
Systems/Security Architect
My first year at USD, I lived on the 4th floor of Maher; now, I live on the bottom floor in room 162... and it's as AWESOME as ever!
I graduated from USD in 2002 with a B.A./B.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering, minored in Math and Physics (yes, I was always a nerd).
Stayed on as a Systems Administrator for Student Computing back in the "Days of Separation" in ITS for ~3 years.
After that, I worked for SAIC as a Systems Engineer for ~3 years before deciding that the corporate world was just NOT as fun as being here at the great University of San Diego... so I came back!
I returned as a Network Systems Architect, with primary roles in networking, security, and systems integration for about ~4 years.
After a lot of work, I finished my M.S. in IT Information Security & Assurance from Carnegie Mellon University in 2011 (Tartans!)
This, along with my changing roles, led me to a new position here at USD as the Systems/Security Architect. I do a lot of systems integration and architecture all over ITS and other areas of USD. My main concerns are with overall security, and I spend much of my time working on projects related to that! I work regularly with Network, Telecommunications, Operations, application and user support staff, and of course constantly with the fantastic Systems Team that share my MH 162 home :)
Things I like: San Diego Chargers!; wearing hats(like all the time); the color blue(only way I can match clothes); sunlight
