SMART Technologies at USD
SMART Technologies interactive white boards were first introduced on campus several years ago and have proven to be versatile and engaging tools in the classroom. Now, in addition to these interactive white boards that are still in some locations, an increasing number of classrooms on campus have been retrofitted with SMART Sympodiums. Sypodiums serve a dual purpose in the classroom. They act as both a computer monitor for our increasing number of dual boot systems, and they are an interactive pen display which can perform an amazing number of functions. Tools for screen capture, on-screen keyboard, spotlight, and extensive content galleries can be used to enhance any class session. Touch sensitive screen and text recognition are additional features that our users have found valuable. The Sympodium even works in conjunction with other software, such as Microsoft Office products.
