Headcount and FTE Enrollment | |||
There are two common ways of reporting enrollment: headcount, or the number of students actually enrolled, and full-time equivalent (FTE), a calculation indicating how many students would be attending if all were enrolled full time. At USD,
one FTE undergraduate student is defined as 15 credits, one FTE graduate student as 12 credits, and one FTE law school student as 14 credits. Based on these calculations, the headcount and FTE enrollment for Fall 2002 are as follows: | |||
| Level | Headcount | FTE | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Undergraduate | 4837 | 4778 | |
| Graduate | 1177 | 728 | |
| Law School* | 1112 | 1015 | |
| Total Students | 7126 | 6521 | |
| * Law School includes students in J.D. (doctoral) and LL.M. (master's) programs. | |||
