IPJ Attends Public Hearings of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights
On October 15 – 31, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights of the Organization of American States in Washington, D.C. held its 133rd Period of Sessions, including public hearings on cases and topics brought before the commission. Program Officer Elena McCollim attended the hearings on Guatemala and Colombia, as assessment for collaborative peacebuilding work in those countries is ongoing. Details

We have been informed by the personal representatives of Mrs. Kroc's estate that the Joan B. Kroc Foundation does not exist, and that these messages are a scam, a hoax and a fraud. “The Highest Aspiration: Looking Ahead on the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”
Join “Eleanor Roosevelt” on the occasion of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. A panel discussion featuring William Aceves, associate dean, California Western School of Law; Marjorie Cohn, professor, Thomas Jefferson School of Law; and Dustin Sharp, senior program officer, Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice, will examine how far human rights have come since 1948 and what the future is for their fuller implementation globally. A reception will follow. RSVP by Nov. 26.
