Choosing Semester Courses

In order to choose courses to be taken during a semester study abroad program, students should compare the course listings of the affiliated institution with the list of USD pre-approved courses. Students may take courses offered by the affiliate institution which are not on the USD pre-approved list; however, the student must complete the tranfer evaluation process prior to departure in order to be granted credit for each course. The transfer evaluation process is simple. Click here for instructions on how to petition for transfer of courses that are not pre-approved.

In the list below, for each affiliate program there is a Course Catalog PDF file which shows courses that are pre-approved by USD for transfer. The course catalog contains descriptions and important notes about each class. Students should be sure to see the course descriptions in the Course Catalog for full details on the classes they select.

There is also a link to the affiliates' course listings (not applicable to the Spain programs). Students should double-check the affiliate's course listings to ensure that the classes they choose from USD's pre-approved list will in fact be offered during the semester they are attending the program. Knowing this information is the responisibility of the student.
