Information Technology Services recently bid a sorrowful farewell to Jack Pope, director of Academic Technology Services and the longest serving and most respected member of that division. As they say when one door closes somewhere a window opens and with that in mind, Jack returned to his teaching roots in the department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

In May 2006, ITS signed a two-year contract with Adobe to purchase products at a discounted rate. Products that are available include Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Creative Suite, Captivate, Dreamweaver, Contribute, Studio, and others.

As I completed my first six months at USD, I had the honor of attending the Board of Trustees retreat on September 29 through 31. Among the topics discussed at the retreat was my presentation on the current state of technology at USD and the key projects that will ultimately provide the University community with the modern resources to support our academic and business enterprises.
