College of Arts and Sciences alumnus Jason Doherty ’98 and his wife, Jenni, started and continue to run Daraja Academy in Nanyuki, Kenya, roughly 200 miles north of Nairobi. The Doherty’s school provides an education and a future for the region’s poorest girls. Through their work, nearly 130 girls have been educated.
