Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade
|Event Start Date||Sunday, January 20, 2013|
Students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and families are invited to participate in a USD tradition and march in the 2013 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade on Sunday, January 20 at 2 p.m. As we reflect on the life of Dr. King and his enduring calls for justice, service, and peace, we come together as a University community and stand together in solidarity with other San Diego organizations in one of the largest celebrations of King’s legacy in the nation.
Meet downtown by 1:30 p.m. in the staging area near the County Administration Building at 1600 Pacific Highway and look for the USD Toreros Bus. Participants are encouraged to carpool, make use of public transit, ride a bicycle or walk to the event.
There will be limited seats (44) for a ride to and from the event on the USD Athletics bus, departing from the Jenny Craig Pavilion Circle at 1 p.m. Reserve a seat by emailing email@example.com.
It promises to be a fun and productive day for building and sustaining our own community in the spirit of justice and inclusion in the context of a diverse San Diego.
Please wear any USD-themed clothing you have.
