Friday Fun: ISO Expo and Fashion Show; TPB's Ole Music Fest

The University of San Diego campus will truly be one of the most energetic and festive places to be this Friday, March 24, as two equally popular student events provide a great night of fun for all in attendance.

ISO Expo and Fashion Show

The 32nd annual International Student Organization Expo and Fashion Show takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. in the UC Forums. The ISO Expo and Fashion Show is free and open to the entire campus community.

The Expo and Fashion Show, ISO’s largest event of its academic year, features delicious cuisine from all over the world, an array of music performances and the evening’s main draw, a bright and beautiful showcase of fashion from many different countries. USD students, many representing their own countries, pride themselves on participating in this event by serving as the fashion models on the runway.

Ole Music Fest

Another major event on campus Friday night is the Ole Music Fest, which is hosted by the Torero Program Board. It will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Valley area, near the recreation field and Mission Crossroads.

This year’s Ole Music Fest lineup, announced within the last week, consists of headline act, AlunaGeorge, supporting act BJ the Chicago Kid, and a pair of student opening acts, Sights and Sages and The Fortuners.

Sights and Sages includes a current School of Law student Christian Clark in the lineup while the Fortuners are comprised of undergraduate students Jason Musni and Mitchell Elliott.

It is free to attend the Ole Music Fest and there will be food and activities available to all in attendance.

Free Beach to/from Campus Tram Service

Furthermore, if you are a USD student who lives off campus and lives at or near Mission Beach, be sure to utilize a free tram ride to and from campus, courtesy of the Torero Program Board. The pick-up spot is Belmont Park’s overnight lot between 5:30 and 7 p.m. that will bring students to the Valley. Tram service will then return students to the beach after the concert concludes.
