Faculty/Staff Development Programs - ongoing workshops on diversity and inclusion, curriculum development, peer support, and hate crimes.
Center for Christian Spirituality - workshops on social justice and understanding spiritual differences.
Law School - Multi-cultural Law Day; Minority Orientation; Academic Support Program for entering minority law students and other nontraditional law students; Law School Admissions Forums and visits to historically black colleges and universities; Lavender Law Job Fair.
Human Resources - Inclusion and diversity are strategically woven into all of human resources. The department embraces leveraging the power and significance of valuing each others’ differences along with the insight, creativity, and diverse perspectives that are brought to our community from a diverse range of employees.
HR has designed and incorporated inclusion and diversity programming into its processes and programs by adding a section on inclusion in our new employee orientation; conducting new employee orientations in Spanish; creating a position within HR that focuses on inclusion and diversity; creating an inclusion and diversity calendar of events; training and development workshops; and participation in various diversity specific publications and recruitment fairs, such as the San Diego Urban League Job Fair.
Experiential Learning & Adventure Center - The mottos of the Adventure Center are Get Outside - Get Connected - Get Off Campus! and Explore Your World and Discover Yourself. Students, faculty, and staff may sign up for outdoor trips, rent camping and sporting equipment, learn about eco-living, and explore the R.E.A.C.H. Teambuilding Program by becoming a facilitator or forming or joining a team.
Employee Wellness
USD employees are eligible to participate in any activities, special events, and classes offered by Campus Recreation. Access to all recreational/fitness facilities on campus is free of charge. Recreational activities include men's, women's, and co-ed intramurals and leagues; non-credit classes; the employee Fit & Active program and Torero Walking Club; and personal training. Human Resources and University Mission and Ministry sponsor a number of informative wellness seminars spanning physical, spiritual, and emotional health, nutrition, fitness, and even "fiscal fitness," and other forms of life planning.
