El Paso Independent School District Collaboration

Project Overview

Our partnership with El Paso Independent School District (EPISD) focused around supporting the active learning pedagogical shift. Active learning allows teachers and students to interact with one another as collaborative learners through hands-on, relevant, learning experiences with the integration of technology. We worked with the district leadership team to define the shift from the three levels through the Milestones: students, teachers, and administration, in order to communicate expectations and to also provide systems of support to develop the stakeholders. The Milestones served as a system under the Teacher and Administrator Competencies that derived from the EPISD Students Goals. The competencies continues to help the EPISD student through personalized and active professional learning for the educator. The partnership also worked closely with the development of the Active Learning Leaders, pedagogical coaches at every site who serve to co-teach, model, and support teachers with active learning.
