Global Connection and Exchange Program Afghanistan: Afghan and American PreCollege Institute

Children from the Global Connection and Exchange Program AfghanistanThe Afghan and American PreCollege Institute is a Global Connection and Exchange Program, funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State. Participants exchange ideas, news, goodwill, photos and achievements.

Students from Afghanistan and San Diego, CA communicate via serveral different online platforms to create and maintain conversations and friendships. Students who participate in San Diego range from high school students in the Linda Vista area, most notably those from Kearny High School who also participate in USD's Upward Bound program to college students from USD's Rotaract Club. Afghan students correspond via computer labs from boys and girls high schools in the Jalalabad region.

Find us on facebook:

Join the GCEP Afganistan: Afghan and American PreCollege Institute on facebook by searching "GCEP Afghanistan: Afghan and American PreCollege Institute". Once your request for membership is accepted, enter into any online discussion forums (or create your own!) to contribute your ideas, thoughts, expressions or questions and you'll be amazed at how rapidly you will be acquainted with the students in Jalalabad. Facebook forges very deep and meaningful relationships between students in the US and Afghanistan because interpersonal contact is made much easier. Students can talk directly to one another or faciliate group dicussion while sharing pictures, links, videos or slideshows.

Find us on Ning:

The Ning wesbite provides a different, beneficial platform for GCEP AFghanistan. Through Ning, students can blog, discuss, and teach one another in slightly more formal setting. Through Ning, students are encouraged, above everything, to write about their thoughts and perceptions, and to share those thoughts with others. To join the Ning site click here. In the right hand corner, click "Sign Up" to create and account and begin interacting.

Both of these platforms work cohesively to make GCEP Afghanistan possible. While Facebook expedites contact and relationships, Ning hones this self-expression. Join both of these sights today to experience in the Global Connections and Exchange Program in full.
