Beyond Your First Day

During your first couple of weeks, you may be scheduled for relevant Learning and Development sessions. Here are some additional things to accomplish:

  • Register/claim your USD email address.
  • Visit Campus Card Services in University Center, Room 127 to get your Torero ID card. 
  • Visit Parking Services in University Center, Room 102 to purchase a parking permit. You may purchase your parking pass online, by clicking the "All Employees" section and choosing "Click Here." 
  • Work with your supervisor to complete the “Staff and Faculty User Registration Form” for ITS. This form will allow ITS to give you access to your computer and database responsibilities.
  • Update your Find People information by accessing the USD Office and Phone Directory Change Request Form
  • Make sure you are completing your timecard appropriately and find out submission dates and procedures (hourly employees only).
  • Learn how to use departmental database systems (if applicable).
  • Clarify any performance or policy questions you may have with your supervisor
  • If accessing or potentially accessing student records is part of your job, you will be required to complete a FERPA training program. For more information on how to complete this program, please visit our Compliance Training website.
  • Workplace Harassment Prevention Training (Supervisory position and Administrators only)
