First Week/Month

During your first couple of weeks, you will be scheduled for New Employee Orientation.  This is a half day session where we review important information about the university, your benefits, as well as common USD expectations.

Here are some additional things to make sure to do in your first week:

  1. Make sure you are completing your timecard appropriately and find out submission dates and procedures (hourly employees)
  2. Learn how to use departmental database systems (if applicable)
  3. Clarify any performance or policy questions you may have

Here are some trainings to complete within your first month:

  1. New Employee Orientation
  2. Safety Orientation
  3. Benefits Orientation
  4. FERPA Training Tutorial (if accessing student records is part of your job)
  5. Workplace Harassment Prevention Training (Supervisory position and Administrators only)
  6. Additional trainings listed on the New Employee Learning Path (distributed at the New Employee Orientation)
