The TransBorder Institute.   Founded in 1994, the TransBorder Institute expresses the University's involvement in the emerging bi-national communities in Mexico, the United States, and elsewhere.   It provides students and faculty of the University, as well as the people of the United States-Mexico border community, with information, contacts and opportunities for study, research, internships, academic exchange, partnerships and service-learning.

San Diego Research Facilities

Off campus, students may take advantage of the research archives of the San Diego Historical Society, the Coronado Historical Society, the San Diego Maritime Museum and other local museums.   The University of California, San Diego, and San Diego State University both have excellent collections of local historical documents, including rare books, manuscripts and photographs.   The California room of the San Diego Public Library also holds historic collections.
