Mumps Information
As you may know, there has been an outbreak of Mumps in Iowa and surrounding states. Most of the cases have been university and college students, and though there have been no confirmed cases in San Diego, it is important that you know about the illness and how to protect yourself. For specific information regarding symptoms, transmission, prevention and treatment, please visit the CDC website.
Please check your immunization records and be sure that you have had 2 doses of MMR vaccine.
If you have NOT received these immunizations, please either schedule a visit with your primary care provider or visit the Student Health Center, so that we can assist you with vaccination.
If you are unsure of your vaccination history, you may visit the Health Center and have a blood test to determine whether you are immune to the virus.
