Spring 2019 New First-Year and Transfer Students

Welcome, Spring 2019 New Toreros!

As part of the University of San Diego's commitment to the well-being of our individual students and to the larger USD community, all incoming undergraduate students are required to complete an online prevention-based education course series which includes AlcoholEdu for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates. These online courses will empower you to make well-informed decisions that will impact your well-being as well as our larger community. 
 
Please note the following important course dates:
 
Part 1 for each course must be completed by: January 21, 2019
Part 2, a 45-day follow-up to each course, must be completed by: March 7, 2019
 
 

To access AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates:

1) You will need your USD One username and password.

2) You will always use the link below to access both courses:

New Undergraduate Students: https://my.sandiego.edu/web/home-community/everfi-sso?curriculumId1=10&curriculumId2=33&numberOfTrainings=2

3) Under “Register”: Enter your first name, last name, and select your age range.

4) Under "Group": Select one of the following two identifying groups

  • Spring 2019 New Student (first-year or transfer)
  • Spring 2019 Formal Fraternity & Sorority Recruitment (only select this group if you have been specifically mandated by the Fraternity & Sorority Life Staff)

5) Select the “Next” button.

6) You will then enter the EverFi course platform where you will see the AlcoholEDu for College course and the Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates courses. Click on the blue “Get Started” button for each course to get started. For AlcoholEdu for College, there is a minimum passing score of 80%. You may retake the course until you pass with at least a score of 80%. You must pass the course in order to fulfill the requirement.

7) After 45 days from each individual Part 1 course completion, you will receive an invitation through your USD email to complete Part 2, which must be completed by March 7, 2019.

 
You can anticipate spending about a total of three hours completing the two Part 1 portions of AlcoholEDU and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates. For each Part 2, you can expect to spend about 20 - 30 minutesPart 2 will become available 45 days after you complete Part 1 for each course; please note this date in your calendar.
 
We will be tracking course progress to ensure all first year and transfer students have complied with this educational requirement. While we don’t expect this to be an issue, it is important that you ensure your compliance by completing Part 1 and Part 2 for both courses by the noted deadlines. The course may include surveys to help personalize your experience and measure participants’ attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are confidential; the school will only receive information about the participant group as a whole and will never see individual answers.
 
IMPORTANT NOTE: A $250 non-compliance fee will be assessed directly to students who do not fully comply with course requirements within the indicated deadlines. This is a non-negotiable non-compliance fee that will be assessed directly to your Student Account.

  • Any technical problems within the EverFi course platform: Technical support is available 24/7 and can be accessed from the “Help” link within the course or by visiting support.everfi.com.
  • You will need Internet access and audio capabilities.
  • To avoid technical issues, please use any major web browser (e.g., Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome) released within the previous two years.
  • You may take the course in multiple sittings. Please feel free to save or bookmark the link as you may take the course in multiple sittings. In order to save your progress, be sure to finish each module, quiz, or video before logging out.
