Spring 2018 Incoming Student Deadlines and Non-Compliance Fee Information

  • Access to the MyStudentBody "Essentials" course begins on December 19, 2017
  • Part 1 should be completed by February 7, 2018 (Extended from the original January 13, 2018 deadline)
  • Part 2, the 60 day follow-up to Part 1, should be completed by April 9, 2018

The entire course takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. The course can be completed in one setting or can be broken up into two or more settings.  You need a minimum score of 80% on each of the Alcohol, Drugs, and Sexual Violence sections to pass Part 1.  If you do not score 80% or better in each section, be sure to retake the test until you have a passing score.  Once you have completed Part 1, be sure to print out your completion certificate for your records; you do not need to email your certificate to USD.

Part 2 becomes accessible 60 days from your Part 1 completion date. Please mark your calendar for 60 days after your Part 1 completion date. At that time, you will need to go back to the MyStudentBody website to complete Part 2.

A $250 non-compliance fee may be assessed to students who enroll in the Spring and do not fully complete BOTH portions of the course within the suggested deadlines. This non-negotiable, non-compliance fee will be assessed directly to your student account. Be sure to complete both Part 1 and Part 2 of the "Essentials" course by the deadlines to avoid this non-compliance fee and learn about how alcohol and other drug use and abuse can impact our community.
