Excursions
This summer the USD program will sponsor trips to Guanajuato, Mexico City, Michoacán, Puerto Vallarta and Zacatecas. Private busses will depart after class on Thursday afternoons and will return on Sunday evenings. Excursion fees will be paid directly to the travel agent while in Guadalajara. Students will have the option of paying in cash, or Traveler's Checks. Credit cards and personal checks will not be accepted for excursion fees.

As the largest city in Mexico, and one of the largest in the world, the Guadalajara Summer Program provides a fun and safe itinerary that includes visits to:
- Basilica de Guadalupe
- Palacio de Bellas Artes
- Los Pinos- President's Palace
- Teotihuacán- Ancient indigenous pyramids
- Frida Kahlo's house in Coayacán
- Palacio Nacional

Mayan Riviera - June 24-27, 2010
The Mayan Riviera is one of the most fascinating destination spots in the world. Students who attend this trip will have the opportunity to explore:

- Five-star hotel in Cancun
- The last Mayan city of Tulum

Guanajuato is the prime jewel of Mexico's colonial silver mining towns. With cobblestone winding streets and colorful buildings, the students may participate in the following visits and activities:
- Mueseo de Diego Rivera
- Teatro Juárez
- Traditional Callejoneada (evening walking tour with costumed guides and instruments)
- Walking tour
- Side trip to San Miguel de Allende
- Silver mines of Valenciana
- Famous Mummy Museum

- Morelia city historical walking tour
- Pátzcuaro
- Side trips to the indigenous towns Parangaricutirimicuaro and Angauan
- Day trip to Paricutín volcano and horseback
- Yacatas Pyramids in Tzintzuntzan
