Leadership Opportunities: Panhellenic Executive Council: President -The President is responsible for conducting all executive and general council meetings, representing USD Panhellenic at all Greek functions, holding weekly meetings with the Greek Advisor, as well as holding regularly scheduled office hours in the Student Involvement Center. The President also co-chairs the Greek Discipline Board on Mondays, with the Interfraternal Council (IFC) President. Vice President, Membership - The VPM is responsible for the planning and executing of Formal Recruitment in the Spring semester. The VPM holds weekly meetings with their advisor, the Recruitment Chairs of each chapter, as well as office hours in the Student Involvement Center. Vice President, Programming - The VP, Programming (along with the IFC VP of Programming) plans and executes every all-Greek function including bringing speakers to campus, Diveristy and Inclusion Workshops, Greek Week, the New Member Induction, and New Member Conference. The VP, Programming is also responsible for holding weekly meetings with their advisor in addition to office hours. Vice President, Public Relations - The VP, Public Relations is responsible for updating the Panhellenic website, the Greek Board, as well as coordinating any publicity needed for an all-Greek event (such as Philanthropy Week). The VP, Public Relations also holds weekly meetings and office hours. Vice President, Community Service - The VP, Community Service coordinates all service opportunities for all-Greek events (such as Habitat Restoration, Valentine's Day Card making, etc.) and works with the VP, Philanthropy to carry out St. Jude's activities. The VP, Community Service may also work with individual chapter Service/Philanthropy Chairs by lending ideas for service opportunities. The VP, Community Service also holds weekly meetiengs and office hours. Vice President, Philanthropy - The VP, Philanthropy is responsible for working with the St. Jude's national representatives to coordinate St. Jude Letter Writing Campaigns (Raise, Rock and Cure!, Mini-Letter Writing, Up 'Till Dawn) on campus. They will hold bi-weekly meetings with chapter representatives preceeding any St. Jude's event, as well as weekly meetings with their advisor, and office hours. Secretary/Treasurer - The Secretary/Treasurer will take notes during all council meetings, format the council meeting agendas, update the all-Greek calendar, create and itemize the Panhellenic budget, as well as send any correspondence necessary. They, along with the Greek Adivsor, will request and sign all checks and reimbursements for the Panhellenic community. *All Panhellenic Executive Council positions require at least one year of membership in good standing with their chapter to apply. *Each chapter also has between 10 and 20 leadership opportunities. Leadership Retreats: Ulitmate Greek Adventure (UGA): This is a mandatory retreat for all executive Panhellenic and IFC members, as well as three members from every chapter. The three-day weekend in the Spring semester is spent discovering and challenging individual and community-wide strengths and weaknesses, as well as developing a plan of action to bring back to the USD community. This retreat works at inspiring audacity in each indivual leader and challenging them to apply what they learn to their chapters and other campus communities as a team. Undergraduate Interfraternal Institute (UIFI): UIFI is an optional six-day conference taking place in the summer, and geared around bringing together the top leaders of each campus across the nation to take a focused look at specifically Greek-related issues. Those in attendance consist of council and chapter presidents, as well as members holding regular chapter status. This conference must be applied to in order to attend, and scholarships are available. Please vist www.nic.org for more information. Western Regional Greek Leadership Conference (WRGLC): This is a mandatory conference and awards banquet for the IFC/Panhellenic Presidents, VPMs, and VP, Programming chairs. Leaders from the Western Region (as east as Colorado) will gather for a four-day weekend in San Fransisco to listen to influential speakers, meet other notable alums of the Greek community and gain examples from others how to combat specific issues ranging from stereotypes and dangerous habits to recruitment ideas and disciplinary panels. USD even hosted a seminar on the benefits of a Greek Disciplinary Panel at WRGLC in 2006. At the end of the conference there is an awards banquet honoring those chapters and advisors who have excelled or helped each other to excell within and outside of their Greek community on campus. Chapter Conventions: There are several opportunities within each individual chapter for your student to attend their annual Chapter Conventions and Leadership Retreats/Academies.
