Bridges Academy: Women in China

University of San Diego History Professor Yi Sun's lecture will focus on the historical changes and continuities in the experiences of Chinese women during the traditional period, modern era and contemporary times. Major topics will include the practices of foot-binding and concubinage, the effects of wars and revolutions, and the dynamics and dilemmas in the lives of women in the process of modernization.
