Kara Marsh Proffitt started working in Alumni Relations in 2004. She now serves the office and the university as an Associate Director overseeing the following areas for the Alumni Association:

- Regional alumni programming in 22 areas across the United States
- Marketing, communications, social media and technologies
- Affinity programs including special interest groups, USD's professional schools and athletics
- Oversight of the Outreach Committee for the Alumni Association Board of Directors
