Copley

The Helen K. and James S. Copley Library is located on the west end of the University of San Diego campus. It houses more than 500,000 books and bound periodicals, has subscriptions to 2,500 journals, collections of reference works, government documents, pamphlets, newspapers in many languages and rare books. It is also home to USD’s media software collection, which includes video and audiotapes, DVDs and CDs, slide sets, films and multimedia sets.

The libraries at USD — which includes the Pardee Legal Research Center — are members of the San Diego Library Circuit Consortium, which maintains a database linking four university libraries and the San Diego County Library. Copley Library also maintains Internet connections with academic and large public libraries throughout the world and with major bibliographic and information databases. This Internet connection enables the library to make their services available inside the library, as well as the residence halls, offices and homes of USD students and faculty.

Other services available include computers, photocopy machines, microfilm readers/printers and media hardware for USD student use. Study spaces are available for more than 600 students, including group study areas, quiet carrels and reading rooms that feature antiques and contemporary art.

The Helen K. and James S. Copley Library serves the entire USD community with books, periodicals, media collections, study spaces, library faculty and more. Your gift, in any amount, supports the operation and development of the Copley Library.

I spent a lot of time in our library studying and doing research. It's great to have a resource like that on our campus. Kristen Gehring '10
