THE PLACEMENT RESULTS

  • Placement decisions are made available to students within 48 hours after the student has finished the placement process on this website only.

  • For reasons of confidentiality, results are posted using only students' ID numbers.

  • The placement result of students who are not absolute beginners consists of two parts:

 
1.
The primary or recommended placement.
    This is the course level the Department of Languages and Literatures considers most appropriate for the student to start his or her study of the language at USD.
     
  2. The secondary or optional placement.
    This is an alternative course level offered to the student by the Department of Languages and Literatures as an optional entry point for his or her study of the language.
     
  • Students who want to enroll in the language to fullfil the CORE curriculum requirement in language and are placed in 202 and/or Upper Division, have the option of taking the comptency exam instead.

  • The placement result of students who are absolute beginners will invariably be 101.

  • Placement results are valid only for the academic year in which they were obtained.

  • Students who are already enrolled in a language course and find out that this course is neither their recommended nor their optional placement must drop this course immediately and enroll in one of the courses in which they have placed.

  • Students who, after the beginning of the semester, are found in violation of the placement policy will be dropped from their courses by the Department of Languages and Literatures.
