Students must be awarded Federal Work-Study through their 2016-2017 Financial Aid award to be eligible to apply for the positions listed.  All positions are available for the summer sessions and are located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted.  The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire.  Most positions offer the opportunity to work 10-15 hours per week during the summer sessions.  Students may be considered for positions with additional responsibilities and higher pay rates, depending on their skills and experience.

Job Title: FWS Student Assistant
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Department Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

Job Title: Operations Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for all recreation facility (Mission Fitness Center and/or Sports Center) patrons, provides excellent customer service as the facility representative for the campus community and promotes health and wellness by facilitating effective faculty operations and related recreation/fitness programs
  • Facilitate all aspects of facility, oversee facility entry/check IDs, ensure safety/security
  • Ensure all sanitizing products (e.g. spray bottles, paper towels, towels) are available and replaced as needed, operate a cash register, run on-campus errands
  • Report to leadership staff, Campus Recreation Student Development and Facility Coordinators, and the Manager of University Fitness Programs. When supervisors are out of the office, Operations Assistants assume the responsibility for supervising the facility
