Students must be awarded Federal Work-Study through their 2013-2014 Financial Aid award to be eligible to apply for the positions listed. All positions are available for the Summer term and located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted. The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire. Most positions offer the opportunity to work up to 20 hours per week during the summer term. Students may be considered for positions with additional responsibilities and higher pay rates, depending on their skills and experience.

Academic Technology Services

Job Title: Computer Lab Assistant
Pay Rate: $8.00/hour
Computer Lab Hours: 8 a.m. – 2 a.m., seven days a week

  • Open and close lab facilities
  • Check out and return keys to lab facilities
  • Lab security
  • Enforce and observe all Academic Technology Services policies
  • Monitor lab usage and check in users; monitor lab supplies
  • Take initiative and be available to work in other areas of the department, working assigned shifts through finals week
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Instructional Technology Services

Job Title: Circulation Desk Assistant
Pay Rate: $8.00/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 7 p.m.

  • Answer phones and inquiries from media library patrons as they relate to Audio Visual Circulation Desk and classroom equipment
  • Check in and out audio visual equipment, reserve equipment and assist faculty, staff and students with audio visual equipment needs
  • Complete and file checkout and reservation equipment forms accurately and enter the information in the Circulation Desk computer system
