Students must be awarded Federal Work-Study through their 2017-2018 Financial Aid award to be eligible to apply for the positions listed.  All positions are available for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) and located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted.  The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire.  Most positions offer the opportunity to work 10-15 hours per week during the fall and spring semester.  Students may be considered for positions with additional responsibilities and higher pay rates, depending on their skills and experience.

School of Business – Graduate Admissions and Recruiting (Spring Only)

Job Title: FWS Student Assistant
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Department Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

  • Create and organize files for incoming and current students
  • Word processing; copying documents; distribute mail; answer phones; fax documents
  • Provide outstanding customer service, act as primary and in-person contact for students and university staff
  • Maintain databases
  • Additional duties as assigned

Mulvaney Center for Community, Awareness, and Social Action

Job Title: Van Driver
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Hours assistance is needed: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

  • Operate mini-van to transport volunteer students between USD and various locations in the Linda Vista community
  • Acts as liaison between volunteers and the Mulvaney Center
  • Monitor student transportation sign-in sheet
  • Use two-way radio to communicate with Mulvaney center after every trip
  • Knowledge of all project sites and daily activities
  • Attends all meetings and activities required of Mulvaney Center Leaders
  • Help with distribution of fliers, campus mail, Xeroxing, answering phones, and date entry
