Students must be awarded Federal Work-Study through their 2014-2015 Financial Aid award to be eligible to apply for the positions listed. All positions are available for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) and located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted. The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire. Most positions offer the opportunity to work 10-12 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Students may be considered for positions with additional responsibilities and higher pay rates, depending on their skills and experience.

Job Title: Student Assistant
Pay Rate: $9.00/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer main telephone line
  • Provide information and directions for visitors
  • Assist with distribution of mail
  • Run errands on-campus
  • Assist with SOLES events as needed
  • Assist with Filing projects within departments,  including cataloging, organizing, and inputting data into database
  • Other projects as needed

United Front Multicultural Center

Job Title: Programmer
Pay Rate: $9.00/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Graduate Assistant(s) to develop and implement innovative programming that supports and strengthens the mission and values of the United Front Multicultural Center (UFMC)
  • Assist UFMC professional staff in planning and promoting large-scale events such as Multicultural Night and Diversity Banquet

United Front Multicultural Center

Job Title: Webmaster/graphic Designer
Pay Rate: $9.00/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Work closely with the director to update and provide support for the United Front Multicultural Center (UFMC) website
  • Work with student interns and professional staff to assist with the development of flyers and other graphic requests
