Students must be awarded Federal Work-Study through their 2014-2015 Financial Aid award to be eligible to apply for the positions listed. All positions are available for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) and located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted. The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire. Most positions offer the opportunity to work 10-12 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Students may be considered for positions with additional responsibilities and higher pay rates, depending on their skills and experience.

School of Business

Job Title: FWS Student Assistant
Pay Rate $9.00/hour
Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary contact for visitors, students, faculty and university staff
  • Assist with mass-mailings, run errands, distribute mail, make copies
  • Assist with supply inventory & distribution
  • Assist with compiling faculty assessment forms
  • Data entry, assist faculty and staff with special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

 

School of Business- Burnham Moores Center for Real Estate

Job Title: FWS Real Estate Assistant
Pay Rate $9.00/hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary Responsibility: edit and maintain the AcT! Contact management database which may require making phone calls and demonstrate good research skills
  • Other Secondary Responsibilities may include: Online-research and administrative tasks and assistance related to Real Estate Conferences, events and workshops
  • Must be an accuracy fanatic! Attention to detail, proof-reading skills and online research skills required
  • Database entry (AcT!) experience preferred
  • Excellent phone etiquette and professionalism is expected
  • Must be reliable, responsible, a team-player and have experience handling administrative tasks

School of Business- Main Office

Job Title: FWS Student Assistant

Campus Card Services

Job Title: Customer Service Assistant
Pay Rate: $9.00/hour
Office Hours: M-F: 9 a.m. – 4 a.m., Wednesday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; possibly some evening and weekends during peak hours

Responsibilities:

  • Answer general questions about card use, account balances, and transaction activity
  • Issue/process requests for CampusCash, Meal plans, ID cards, gift cards and summer conference cards, and maintains records for all cards issued
  • Perform General office duties: File, make on-campus deliveries, post flyers, photocopy, scan, fax, prepare mailings, and assist technical staff
  • May be asked to assist at University functions and events such as Torrero Days
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Title: Student Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist visitors
  • Assist students with online career assessments and career research
  • General office duties: make copies, file, run campus errands, record statistics
  • As back-up for receptionist: answer phones, take messages, schedule appointments
  • Participate in marketing activities, as requested

Community Service-Learning

Job Title: Van Driver
Pay Rate: $9.00/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate mini-van to transport volunteer students between USD and community partner sites in the Linda Vista community
  • Act as liaison between volunteers and the Community Service-Learning office
  • Must make as many shuttle runs as needed- being prompt in transporting as well as returning students to campus
  • Keep accurate records of van mileage and student participation in log book provided
  • Attend all meetings and activities required of Community Service Leaders
  • Knowledge of all project sites and daily activities and help with distribution of flyers, distribution of campus mail, copying and data entry

Counseling Center

Job Title: Student Assistant
Pay Rate: $9.00/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

  • Assist in clerical tasks: fax, file and scan documents, copy notes, post and distribute flyers, campus errands, etc
