Students must be awarded Federal Work-Study through their 2013-2014 Financial Aid award to be eligible to apply for the positions listed. All positions are available for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) and located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted. The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire. Most positions offer the opportunity to work 10-12 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Students may be considered for positions with additional responsibilities and higher pay rates, depending on their skills and experience.

School of Business- Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate

Job Title: FWS Real Estate Assistant
Pay Rate $8.00/hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.

  • Primary Responsibility: edit and maintain the AcT! Contact management database which may require making phone calls and demonstrate good research skills
  • Other Secondary Responsibilities may include: updating media lists; online-research and administrative tasks and assistance related to Real Estate Conferences, events and workshops
  • Must be an accuracy fanatic! Attention to detail, proof-reading skills and online research skills required
  • Database entry (AcT!) experience preferred
  • Excellent phone etiquette and professionalism is expected
  • Must be reliable, responsible, a team-player and have experience handling administrative tasks
  • Interested in someone available now, during Intersession and into the Spring Semester

Campus Recreation

Job Title: Operations Assistant
Pay Rate: $8.00/hour
Hours assistance is needed: 9 a.m. - 11 p.m., weekdays; 9 a.m. – 10 p.m., weekends

  • Create an inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Provide assistance, information, and orientations to patrons/guests
  • Oversee facility usage
  • Provide customer service
  • Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedule
  • Support student leaders in various projects as requested
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must be available: Mondays 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Wednesdays 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. and Fridays 4-6 p.m.

Community Service-Learning

Job Title: Van DriverPay Rate: $9.00/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.

  • Operate mini-van to transport volunteer students between USD and community partner sites in the Linda Vista community
  • Act as liaison between volunteers and the Community Service-Learning office
  • Keep accurate records of van mileage and student participation in log book provided
  • Knowledge of all project sites and daily activities and help with distribution of flyers, distribution of campus mail, copying and data entry
  • Van Drivers will work 10 hours a week, and applicants must be available Fridays, 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Continuing Education

Job Title: Office Assistant
Pay Rate: $8.00/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. early mornings and early/late evenings may be needed as well

  • Aid in logistics of Corporate and Professional programs
