Students must be awarded Federal Work-Study through their 2014-2015 Financial Aid award to be eligible to apply for the positions listed. All positions are available for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) and located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted. The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire. Most positions offer the opportunity to work 10-12 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Students may be considered for positions with additional responsibilities and higher pay rates, depending on their skills and experience.

Job Title: FWS Student Assistant
Pay Rate $9.25/hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate customer service
  • Organize, maintain, and file papers
  • Copy and fax documents
  • Distribute mail
  • Maintain database
  • Assist with supply inventory and disbursement
  • Other duties as assigned

School of Business- Advising Office- Spring Only

Job Title: FWS Student Assistant

Pay Rate $9.00/hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Copy and file paperwork
  • Answer phones
  • Print label & name tags; assemble welcome folders
  • Create and post flyers on the advising bulletin board
  • Respond to general email inquiries
  • Dollect and disseminate advising office forms
  • Work with Microsoft Office- Access, Excel and Word

Campus Recreation

Job Title: Recreation Operations Assistant
Pay Rate: $9.00/hour
Hours assistance is needed: Tue: 3 p.m. – 7 p.m., Fri: 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote health and wellness by facilitating effective facility operations and related recreation/fitness programs
  • Create an inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Provide assistance, information, and orientations to patrons/guests
  • Oversee facility usage
  • Provide customer service
  • Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedule
  • Promote all Recreation programs and activities offered in the facilities
  • Run errands
  • Support student leaders in various projects as requested
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must be CPR & First Aid/AED Certified (either at the time of hire or within 30 days of accepting employment)

Continuing Education

Job Title: Office Assistant
Pay Rate: $9.00/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. early mornings and early/late evenings may be needed as well; as needed on weekends
