Students must be awarded Federal Work-Study through their 2016-2017 Financial Aid award to be eligible to apply for the positions listed.  All positions are available for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) and located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted.  The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire.  Most positions offer the opportunity to work 10-15 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.  Students may be considered for positions with additional responsibilities and higher pay rates, depending on their skills and experience.

Trans-Border Institute

Job Title: Student Worker
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00a.m.-8:00p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Data collection using government data and online news sources
  • Assist in analyzing data and preparing reports
  • Assist in other researched related to human rights and the border
  • Spanish proficiency required

University Scheduling

Job Title: Student Assistant
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Department hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Input, update, and maintain technical information pertaining to room scheduling software
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel are preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft OneNote are preferred
