Students must be awarded Federal Work-Study through their 2017-2018 Financial Aid award to be eligible to apply for the positions listed.  All positions are available for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) and located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted.  The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire.  Most positions offer the opportunity to work 10-15 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.  Students may be considered for positions with additional responsibilities and higher pay rates, depending on their skills and experience.

Job Title: Student Assistant
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Department Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9am-5pm; Wednesday: 9am-6pm

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting students, families, and visitors
  • Helping students check into the queue at kiosk or online
  • Answer phones, copying, and printing forms
  • Logging forms received via Salesforce
  • Answering cases via Salesforce and using Banner
  • General office upkeep and errands
  • Administrative duties as assigned

Payroll

Job Title: FWS Student Assistant
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 9a.m.-4p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist visitors
  • Enter direct deposit, W-4, and address info into payroll system
  • Data entry, Kronos troubleshooting for employees
  • Other tasks as assigned

Provost

Job Title: Student Assistant, Administrative Support
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Department Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, (min 1.5-2 hour blocks)

Responsibilities:

  • General office responsibilities: photocopying, filing, typing, scanning, computer skills,
  • Answer telephone calls, respond to student/general public inquiries
  • Other duties include running errands and last minute faculty requests
  • Assist with special projects

Student Affairs

Job Title: Student Assistant
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Department Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer main phone line, forward calls and/or take messages as needed
  • Assist guests and provide a welcoming environment
  • Assist with inquiries that arise
  • Pick up, sort, and deliver office mail
  • Copy, scan, file documents; draft emails
  • Work on short-term and long-term projects

Undergraduate Admissions

Job Title: Student Assistant

  • Data entry related to student recruitment

University Relations

Job Title: Student Assistant
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Department Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30a.m.-5:00p.m. (min 2 consecutive hours/day)
